I’m thrilled you’ve found this space! My name is Dr. Zachary Johnson, and this blog reflects my mission to build a supportive community for healthcare workers and provide resources to help you navigate the challenges of burnout, goal setting, mental health, and finding balance in your life.


Who Am I?


I am a nurse and proud Air Force veteran. I’m a passionate advocate for personal wellness and a fan of simple, research-backed self-care strategies that work. I enjoy challenging the status quo to foster meaningful change. I’m passionate about supporting healthcare workers and their well-being, and my journey has been shaped by over 20 years of diverse experience in healthcare and beyond.


I've experienced the full spectrum of healthcare environments, from lifeguarding and firefighting to scuba and rescue diving, as well as working as a nurse in the emergency department, inpatient psychiatry, hospice care, geriatrics, and nurse case management. I’ve also worked in nursing informatics, healthcare data analytics, and software design, contributing to the development of innovative tools, such as the Goalvy App, for productivity, goal setting, and personal growth.


My academic path mirrors my professional journey: I began as a hospital orderly and CNA, advanced to LPN and RN roles, earned a master’s degree in nursing education, and ultimately completed my doctorate in nursing. I’m also a national board-certified health and wellness coach and am currently training to become a psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner (PMHNP).


Why This Matters


My diverse background has given me a unique perspective on the highs and lows of healthcare. I’ve been in the trenches, grinding through seemingly endless days. I’ve also had those magical moments when time stood still, and I felt deeply connected to my purpose at work.


These experiences have fueled my passion for helping others find their path to joy and fulfillment. I’m here to share lessons from my journey, learn alongside you, and, most importantly, help make your life a little easier and happier.


The Purpose of This Blog


This blog serves as a space for connection, learning, and personal growth. It’s an extension of my work with the Goalvy App but with a personal twist—an “unfiltered” and “unplugged” version of my thoughts and experiences.
